The GraphCalc team of authors is dedicated to developing useful calculator tools and helpful resources for students, business owners, and consumers.
Our team of expert authors has grown significantly since our inception and we are thrilled to share our resources with you.
First, let’s meet our founders:
GraphCalc Founders
Mike Arrison
Mike graduated from Bucknell University in May 2000, with a double major in Computer Science and Music. He plans to keep music on the sidelines as a fun and relaxing hobby while pursuing a career in computer and web programming. Mike interned with 4anything.com during the summer of 1999 and started work there upon graduation.
Mike designed the majority of the graphics for GraphCalc and its web page. He also derived the majority of the math required for GraphCalc.
Update: Mike has ditched the wonderful world of computers to join the ranks of the few, the proud, the public school teachers.
Brendan Fields
Brendan graduated Bucknell in May 2000 as well. He graduated with a Bachelor of Computer Science in Engineering with high marks. After graduation Brendan moved to Seattle, WA.
Brendan is the lead developer and resident MFC expert for GraphCalc. He designs most of the user interface and general features of the program. As you can see, when Brendan isn’t programming he spends most of his time outdoors. He also interned for 2 summers with IBM as a Lotus Notes Application Developer.
Our Team
Erik Johnson, CPA
Erik graduated from the University of Miami and started his finance career at The Rehmann Group. Today, he owns his own practice as well as reviews and edits our content for accuracy.
Since he’s a finance wiz and a spreadsheet mastermind, he also helps up design new financial, business, and money related calculators.
Jake Toply
Jake received his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from UC Santa Barbara and started developing apps in the infancy of the mobile revolution. As he gained development experience, he started his own app building company.
Jake builds and tests our calculators to ensure they work properly and provide a unique UX.
Content Reviewers & Editors
Deborah Morgan, RD – Deborah is a registered Dietician with experience in both the clinical and non-clinical dietetics setting. She is a subject matter expert in nutrition and many help related fields. Deborah reviews our health and fitness related content to ensure its accuracy.
Chris Delilah, Licensed Contractor – Chris is a licensed contract with over 15 years of experience building custom homes. Although he loves his construction business, he loves rebuilding 1970s muscle cars even more. Chris reviews the calculators and articles in the subjects of construction, electrical, and automotive for accuracy and creativity.
Valerie Brown – Valerie graduated from University of Michigan, Dearborn with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics, concentrating on teaching. Today, she teaches high school science and remains a life-long learner. She reviews, critiques, and edits our science based articles and calculators for accuracy and completeness.
