To pan around a 3D Graph, you can use the middle mouse button to drag the graph around. On mice that have wheels, the wheel us usually considered the middle button.

If you don't have a middle button, you can hold the CTRL key while using the right mouse button to drag around.

You can slow down the panning rate if you hold the SHIFT key while panning
